HARMONICA REPAIR DONE RIGHT,
by George

HOW MUCH WILL MY REPAIR COST?
It is impossible to quote the cost of work when the harmonica is sight unseen. By sending your harmonica to me, you are pre-authorizing work up to $100.00.  If the initial inspection reveals that your repair/refurbish/rebuild has a potential to exceed $100, then you will contacted by telephone or email for approval. Rest assured that most cleaning with light to moderate repair needs is well under $100.  For more specific pricing information, please visit my page.  http://www.harmonicagallery.com/repair/harmonica-repair

HOW LONG WILL MY REPAIR TAKE?
Turnaround time is currently unpredictable.  This is due to George’s employer’s work schedule, which is (afterall) what pays the mortgage and puts food on the table. Therefore George is not able to quote or otherwise guarantee a return date. All new customers at this time can expect that turnaround time may take 6-9 months, sometimes longer and sometimes shorter.  Again, turnaround is unpredictable.

HOW WILL I PAY FOR YOUR WORK?
  • Do not send any money at this time.
  • You will be billed the exact amount for repairs when your harmonica is ready to ship.
  • Once the cleaning / repair is complete and your instrument is ready to ship, George will send an invoice via PayPal to the same email address that you have provided.
  • You can view the invoice & pay it online with any major credit card, or your PayPal account.
  • George will ship after your payment is received.

HOW WILL I SHIP MY HARMONICA TO YOU?
To maintain security of your parcel, ALL harmonicas are shipped to my P.O. Box.  I recommend my customers uses USPS Priority Mail with Insurance (the first $50 insurance is free).

Once your package arrives, I track it internally using your name, mobile phone number, email address, and postmark.  If you ship from a 3rd party shipper, PLEASE be sure that all of this information is visible and obvious on the outside of the package. In most cases, your package will not be opened until it has come up in queue on the workbench.  Please include a packing slip on the inside of the package with all of this information and a description of the work to be done.

Please format your return address as follows:
  • Your Name
  • Your Street Address (and Apt) –or- PO Box
  • Your City, State, Zip Code
  • Your email address
  • Your Mobile Phone Number
  • My receiving address is:

WHY DON'T YOU PROVIDE YOUR STREET ADDRESS?
The danger of shipping via any other carrier (such as FedEx and UPS) is simply that they drop parcels outside the door of my home without anybody to receive it. Therefore I prefer not to use these carriers. It is for this reason that I do not provide my street address.

HOW WILL I KNOW THAT YOU RECEIVED MY HARMONICA?
When you ship USPS Priority Mail, you receive a free tracking number.  Please use the USPS.com website with your tracking number for your confirmation.

ASSURANCE
  • Despite long turnaround time for cleaning, repairs, and customization, your harmonica is in expert hands.
  • George does not work on harmonicas when he is either tired or ill.
  • You and your harmonica have not been forgotten.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS WE MOVE FORWARD
George works for Liberty University Transit, driving motor coaches over the road and transit buses on campus.  Given the seasonal nature of his job, George's schedule varies from extremely busy to periods of no work at all.  George's repair production follows with delayed production during times that he is in high need at the university, and increased production when he is in low need at the university.  All customers are asked to be patient and understanding.  No amount of emails or phone calls will change his work schedule at the university.
